Find your balance without losing yourself in the process
We help adults, children, couples and families who feel off balance get judgment-free therapy from a licensed clinical social worker, so they can stay centered in their own lives.
18 years in practice · Licensed Clinical Social Worker, MD and PA · Clients from age 3 to 78

You are holding everything together, and it is costing you
The arguments at home keep circling back to the same place. Your child is struggling and school keeps calling. Your partner feels far away. Or you are simply tired in a way sleep does not fix. Most people wait until they have run out of room before they call someone.
You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support, and you are not broken for needing it.
Peace
A judgment-free room. You are welcomed and accepted exactly as you are, with no version of yourself to perform.
Balance
Personal, professional, physical, mental and spiritual self-care treated as one picture rather than separate projects.
Wellness
A holistic approach to therapy: pathways for people seeking something different, so they can live the life they actually want.

Your therapist
Christen J. Yassin, LCSW-C
Christen has spent 18 years doing this work, with clients from age 3 to 78, through divorce, family conflict, narcissistic abuse, and the daily reality of parenting an autistic child. She is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland and Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she finished a two-year Master of Social Work in one year, Summa Cum Laude.
She founded Centered in 2021 after a personal experience taught her exactly how much it matters to stay in your own center.

How to start
Book a 15-minute consultation
Call and tell Christen what is going on. You will know quickly whether this is the right fit.
Start with a first session
Your first appointment sets the direction: what you want to change, and how the two of you will get there.
Keep a steady rhythm
Regular sessions, adjusted as you go, until staying centered is something you can do without her in the room.
What it looks like when it is working
The same conversation at home ends differently. You notice the pattern before you are already inside it. Your child has words for what they are feeling instead of a meltdown. You can be close to the people you love without disappearing into them.
Nothing here promises a fast fix. The alternative is another year of the same rhythm, hoping it settles on its own.

Centered Philosophy
You do not have to lose yourself to love the people you love. On what happens to your rhythm when the people you love come home.
When Your Emotional Bandwidth Runs Out
Not physically tired. Emotionally tired. What that deep breath in the middle of a conversation is actually telling you.
You Can't Make Someone Become Self-Aware
A client once said, I'm not broken. Therapy is not about proving something is wrong with you.
